About The Position

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBLITIES: The childcare assistant will provide direct childcare services to children of patients. Assists the Childcare Supervisor. Also does related work as required.

Requirements

• Be 18 or more years of age and possess a high school education or equivalency.
• Have one or more years of experience working with children of a variety of ages, cultures and ethnic backgrounds.
• Pass the DSHS & Washington State Patrol background check.
• Have or obtain within 60 days of employment, HIV/AIDS, First Aid and CPR training.
• Must not have committed or been convicted of child abuse or any crime involving physical harm to another person.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Childcare Supervisor in maintaining an attractive, clean and safe childcare environment.
• Assists the Childcare Supervisor in creating and leading stimulating activities based on the individual needs of the children in attendance.
• Assist with record keeping.
• Relate to the children and their parents with warmth and respect.
• Fill in for the Childcare Supervisor in her/his absence.
• Attend all meetings, workshops, retreats as required.
