About The Position

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Support Service Coordinator II for the Treatment and Detention Facility located in Rushville, Illinois to work in an assigned shift in the Dietary Department. This role directs support staff and residents on tasks in the Dietary Department, including the preparation and serving of food, and ensures the sanitation of the kitchen and related areas. The position also involves instructing staff and residents on the operation of various kitchen equipment and providing feedback to the Rehabilitation Department on resident performance. Responsibilities include maintaining records of supplies, stocking workstations, and cleaning work areas after each assignment.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of High School.
  • Requires two (2) years of functional supervisory experience in the support service functional area to which assigned.
  • Requires ability to complete an ANSI Accredited food handlers course and obtain a Food Handler’s certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Responsibilities

  • Directs support staff and residents on tasks in one of the several areas on an assigned shift of the Dietary Department.
  • Directs residents on the preparation and serving of food.
  • Ensures sanitation of the kitchen and related areas.
  • Instructs support staff and residents in the operation of dishwasher, pot and pan machine, mixers, can openers, disposals, coffee makers, toasters, and any other kitchen utensils.
  • Directs distribution of food and drinks to patient areas.
  • Provides feedback to Rehabilitation Department on Resident’s performance of tasks.
  • Serves as designated lead worker.
  • Maintains records of items removed from storage areas and stock workstations with supplies after each meal service.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas after each job assignment, including special cleaning instructions.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
