About The Position

Gordon Truck Centers, Inc. (GTC) is seeking a Support Service Account Manager / Service Advisor for its Redding, CA Freightliner Northwest location. GTC has been serving customer transportation needs since 1986 and operates an extensive network of dealerships. As a full-service dealership family for Freightliner, Western Star, and Wilson Trailer, GTC offers sales, financing, insurance, and servicing for medium and heavy-duty commercial trucks. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous Service Advisory experience preferred or one (1) year or more related experience in a repair facility.
  • Technical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles preferred but not required.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Must be professional and safety-minded at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Good listening skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and communicate with customers, initiating service write-ups for repairs.
  • Accurately record customer information and requests, and prepare written estimates.
  • Schedule and plan shop work directly with the service foreman.
  • Communicate effectively with shop management.
  • Problem-solve with the team.
  • Keep the customer/driver informed about the status of repairs at all times.
  • Open and close repair orders, enter other work needed, and check for warranty coverage.
  • Oversee correct data entry on all repair orders, ensuring accuracy of data and codes.
  • Collect purchase order information, warranty information, and/or customer payment.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Accept ownership for new and different requests, exploring value-added opportunities.
  • Develop and grow within the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by business needs.
