Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional secretarial courses preferred.
  • Minimum two years of recent secretarial or clerical work experience required, with School District experience preferred.
  • Ability to accurately type 40 words per minute.
  • Basic level knowledge of general computer skills, including Microsoft office programs, payroll software, financial software (i.e., Intouch), single point of entry software, and student information system (i.e., PowerSchool) experience preferred.
  • First Aid card preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation of administrative and student offices in support of school and staff, ensuring a positive, professional image. This includes greeting students, staff, visitors and callers, handling their inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.
  • Maintain and administer student attendance records and programs, ensuring accuracy for school, district and state reports.
  • Maintain student records and cumulative files for incoming, current and transfer students. This may include demographic information, grades, assessment results, immunization records, student learning plans, IEPS, files, and vision and hearing.
  • Coordinate the financial management of ASB, including budget preparation, fund raising, counting/balancing of monies, receiving and disbursing funds in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Management of building inventory: tagging, accounting, adding, and transferring of furniture, equipment, textbooks and supplies.
  • Train students, staff and volunteers in office/site processes and etiquette; assist with evaluating student performance for grading.
  • Assist with minor medical injuries, illnesses and may administer medication for students.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
