About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Support Engineer to support and maintain internally developed test equipment across lab and production environments. This role involves hands-on hardware work, RF cabling, system troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  • Associate's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  • Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year (Master’s = one year) of work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's, Electronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent military training
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in test engineering, lab support, or technical operations
  • Working knowledge of: RF systems, cables, and connectors
  • Linux command line troubleshooting
  • Hardware installation and system integration
  • Basic networking concepts (servers, switches, IP configuration)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain internally built test systems and platforms
  • Support system upgrades, modifications, and hardware integrations
  • Execute RF cabling, connector installation, and signal path verification
  • Perform hardware installations including installing system components in racks and hardware upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot RF and hardware-related issues to ensure optimal system performance
  • Diagnose system issues using Linux command line tools
  • Support issue resolution across hardware, software, and network layers
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of servers, network switches, and lab IT systems
  • Being able to determine if hardware is faulty and setting up replacement hardware
  • Support system connectivity, configuration, and network stability
  • Collaborate with IT teams for escalations and system improvements
  • Track, manage, and maintain internal and external (commercial) test equipment inventory
  • Support equipment audits, lifecycle management, and asset documentation
  • Coordinate movement and allocation of lab assets as needed
  • Assist during calibration events and site-wide maintenance activities
  • Coordinate with calibration teams to ensure equipment readiness
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, issues, and resolutions through ServiceNow workorders and tickets.
  • Provide clear updates to stakeholders on system status and progress
  • Contribute to process improvements and standard operating procedures
  • Contribute to technical papers by adding to or creating Confluence pages.
