About The Position

Responsible to process a high volume of shipping containers for external customers. Will also maintain records, perform computer data entry, and provide departmental support as needed. Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
  • No prior specific work experience required.
  • Must acquire a working knowledge of department procedures.
  • Must have previous work experience with Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
  • Must be able to do light typing.
  • Must have excellent telephone and/or email etiquette skills.
  • Must be able to write legibly.
  • Must be able to keep information confidential.
  • Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.
  • Must be professional, organized, detail oriented, communicative, and have the ability to greet the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Must be able to work with interruptions and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours.
  • Requires to reach, lift and carry up to 20 lbs
  • Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range.
  • Will require walking, bending, and prolonged sitting and/or standing during work hours.
  • Required to lift and carry relatively light materials.
  • Required to lift while loading, unloading, and restocking.
  • Will be required to stand for a long period of time.
  • Requires face to face interaction with co-workers and/or others.
  • Requires ability to work with onsite equipment and observing work processes.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect boxes used to ship biological products, remove packing materials, and refurbish those that are gently used.
  • Breakdown and destroy boxes that appear to be contaminated and/or unusable.
  • Prepare new boxes for customer sample submission.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and records as directed.
  • Assist with coordination of departmental communications and activities.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
  • Maintain departmental supplies within established inventory levels.
  • Perform computer data entry.
  • Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and quality requirements
  • Participate in continuing education and attend meetings as required.
  • Assist with training and/or mentoring of new employees and/or volunteers.
  • Participate in team-oriented work projects for the development and implementation of validations, process improvements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assist other departments with support as needed.
