About The Position

The Support CDL Driver fills in on open, vacant, or temporarily unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. The role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 AM and continuing until route completion. Variable shifts may be required, and 10–15 hours of overtime are expected each week. Weekend overtime is voluntary and may be needed. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Starting pay is $24.00–$30.75 per hour, based on experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for CDL Class-A drivers. The position is full-time and nonexempt. The driver may assist with morning freight sorting and truck loading, deliver and pick up freight, inspect the vehicle, collect payments, verify pickup contents, and communicate issues to management. Travel may be required. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid CDL Class A license or successfully complete the company-paid CDL training program. The company is family owned and operated and provides next-day ground delivery services throughout the Midwest.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license or successfully complete the company-paid CDL training program.
Ability to operate a manual transmission.
Must possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Good customer service and organizational skills.
Ability to pass a DOT physical.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform the required range of motion, including grasping, standing, squatting, climbing stairs, and walking.
Ability to work with varied freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional personal appearance and keep the vehicle clean.
Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments.
Travel as required.
Perform other assigned duties.
