About The Position

The City of Monterey is seeking a Part-Time Support Analyst to provide professional administrative and analytical support to the Human Resources Department. This is a non-career track, hourly position working 20–29 hours per week and is excluded from CalPERS membership. The position offers a flexible schedule based on the needs of the City and the employee’s availability. The Support Analyst will assist with HR programs and projects through research and analysis, data gathering and evaluation, preparation of reports and recommendations, project coordination, and support for the development and implementation of HR programs and services. This is a continuous recruitment and may close at any time without prior notice. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early. Under basic supervision, perform complex professional administrative staff assistance. The Part-time Support Analyst position is a non-career track, hourly-based position that is excluded from membership in CalPERS. Part-Time Workers may work for a limited period of time or on a regular, or part-time schedule throughout the year. Work schedule and hours vary depending on the needs of the City and the employee's availability. Minimum hours and specific work shifts are not guaranteed and may be adjusted by the employer at any time.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a Bachelors’ Degree
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience performing professional-level administrative and analytical support
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, interpret, analyze, and prepare recommendations in relation to proposals for new programs, grants, services, equipment, and personnel
  • May be assigned responsibility for administering or coordinating specific department programs
  • Investigate and prepare reports on specific requests and complaints pertaining to department activities
  • Prepare grant applications
  • Monitor programs for compliance with regulations
  • Prepare and maintain necessary records and reports
  • Gather and analyze data on existing programs, conduct surveys and prepare proposals including financing, staffing, and organization requirements
