As a participant in bp's three-year Supply, Trading & Shipping Trader Development Program, you'll gain hands-on experience across commodity markets while developing the technical, analytical, and commercial skills needed for a successful trading career. Working alongside experienced traders, analysts, and operators, you'll contribute to commercial decision-making, analyze market fundamentals, support trading strategies, and help identify opportunities across North American energy markets. Successful candidates will participate in a structured three-year rotational program designed to accelerate development into future trading professionals. Rotations may include commodity trading, market analytics, commercial strategy, physical operations, risk management, and trading analysis across multiple energy markets. Joining our energy trading team, you will be part of managing our trades on the major energy commodity exchanges and the Over-the-Counter market as well as our daily exposure to global market developments. You will have the opportunity to experience different trading disciplines and styles from physical trading to financial trading. Beyond that, you will have the chance to work across rotations, including market analytics, physical operations, and working as trading analyst for one of our trading benches. The areas of exposure can include, but are not limited to: Structured technical and commercial training Mentorship from experienced traders and industry leaders Exposure to global energy markets and trading strategies across Natural Gas, Power, and Natural Gas Liquids Rotational experiences across multiple business functions Opportunities to build analytical, commercial, and leadership skills A pathway toward long-term careers within bp's trading organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Graduates between December 2026 and May 2027
  • Current Cumulative GPA Minimum 3.0
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions (bp will not support U.S. Immigration sponsorship for full-time or long-term employment)
  • Must be available to start on agreed upon global program start date (June 21, 2027)
  • Drive and motivation to problem solve
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with specific timelines
