About The Position

The Supply Technician performs limited aspects of technical supply management work, including inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization related to depot, local, or other supply activities. This role is responsible for the inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies and equipment, as well as material coordination for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. The technician will also be responsible for cataloging supply channels of a particular agency or field establishment, working within established supply regulations, policies, and procedures. Contacts may involve discussions with operating officials regarding program needs, inventory requirements, and the identification of less complex items. Additionally, the role may involve contacting commercial firms for information on new items or procurement lead times, and government agencies regarding property utilization.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent is desirable.
  • Three (3) years of material/supply functions, either in the military services or in commercial applications.
  • Knowledgeable of government supply systems/programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines.
  • Analytical ability to define problems, collect necessary data, establish facts, and to take recommended action based upon applicable established guidelines.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driving permit.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Working knowledge of ILSS is mandatory.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of ELMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
  • Verifies materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Routes materials to prescribed storage locations.
  • Stores, stacks, or pallets materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials.
  • Examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage; removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
  • May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
  • Performs miscellaneous quality assurance duties including inspections, inventory process checks, inspecting and examining materials, article inspections, etc.
  • Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
