About The Position

The Supply Technician (ISSA) position is a full-time, hourly role located at Fort Riley, KS. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong working knowledge of Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) or equivalent to the skill set of MOS 92A, level 2 or 3. The technician will be familiar with all working areas and functions of an Installation Supply Support Activity, provide technical guidance to shipping and receiving clerks, and ensure inventories and location surveys are performed according to established procedures. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining automated and manual records, posting receipts and turn-ins in GCSS-A, and performing due-ins and due-outs. The role also involves preparing production reports, retrieving and analyzing historical files for system rejected documents, and assisting the Supervisor with reconciling activity records for reporting. Processing Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs) and Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs) and tracking such materials until resolved are key duties. The technician will operate materiel handling equipment (MHE) as required, assist the Supervisor with work schedules, and perform other duties as assigned. The position requires maintaining a professional workstation and department area.

Requirements

  • Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of a 92A level 2 or 3.
  • Experience with Logistics Information Systems (LIS) such as Global Combat Support System Army (GCSS-A), Logistic Information Warehouse (LIW) and Unique Item Tracking (UIT).
  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to quickly research and collect the necessary applicable data, to establish the applicable facts, and to take or recommend action based upon proven applications or interpretation of systematically established guidelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge to operate and perform required duties using GCSS-A
  • Be able to pick up and movement items within a 50 lbs. restriction
  • Be capable of climbing and working on equipment at 10 feet above ground limit
  • Be capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years in order to obtain NACI and CAC Card eligibility.
  • Ability to pass a post offer drug screen clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and background checks related to the position
  • Valid state driver's license
  • GCSS Army Certified
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical guidance to shipping and receiving clerks

  • Assists Supervisor reconciling activity records for monthly and quarterly reporting and status reviews.
  • Processes Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs), Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs) and track such materials until resolved.
  • Operates materiel handling equipment (MHE) as required.
  • Assists Supervisor with schedules for work based on established guidelines and priorities in accordance with governing rules, regulations, and policies
  • Maintain workstation and department area in a highly professional manner and appearance
  • Performs other duties assigned
