About The Position

The Supply Planner for Purchased Products is responsible for planning, analyzing, and executing inventory and replenishment strategies for purchased finished goods and materials. This role ensures supply plans align with forecasted demand, inventory targets, and customer service requirements through effective Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and inventory analysis. This role partners closely with Sales, Product, Demand Planning, Logistics, and Operations to ensure product availability, inventory health, and successful product lifecycle execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in supply planning, inventory planning, or MRP driven environments.
  • Experience supporting purchased finished goods in consumer goods, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and planning systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, SAP, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Strong cross functional communication skills, including interaction with Sales and Product teams.
  • Detail oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing competing priorities.

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Experience supporting product launches and promotional planning.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and replenishment plans for purchased products to align supply with forecasted demand and inventory policies.
  • Monitor MRP exceptions, projected shortages, and past due supply; proactively drive planning actions to mitigate service risk.
  • Review demand forecasts and adjust supply plans to prevent stockouts, excess inventory, or aged materials.
  • Establish and maintain safety stock and reorder parameters based on demand variability, lead times, and service objectives.
  • Analyze SKU level demand, inventory, and supply performance to drive databased replenishment decisions.
  • Identify slow moving, obsolete, excess, or at-risk inventory and recommend corrective action plans.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by reviewing on hand balances, open orders, and system planning signals.
  • Support inventory reduction, working capital, and service level improvement initiatives.
  • Create and manage purchase orders in the ERP or planning system in accordance with approved supply plans.
  • Track open purchase orders and inbound supply; follow up on past due or at-risk deliveries.
  • Communicate delivery risks and revised availability dates to internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate supply execution with logistics and customer service teams to support customer commitments.
  • Partner with Sales teams to review product availability, address supply constraints, and support customer service priorities, including proactive communication of risks and recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with Product and Product Marketing teams to support product lifecycle activities, including new product introductions, line extensions, promotions, and end of life transitions.
  • Participate in cross functional demand and supply reviews to align product plans with commercial and portfolio strategies.
  • Work closely with Demand Planning to align forecast assumptions, promotional impact, and supply responsiveness.
  • Support New Product Introductions (NPI) by ensuring inventory readiness, system setup, timing alignment, and execution against launch plans.
  • Maintain planning related master data accuracy (lead times, order policies, lot sizes, safety stock parameters).
  • Document standard work, planning assumptions, and portfolio specific processes.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning effectiveness, inventory visibility, and service performance.
