About The Position

The Supply Chain Technician is responsible for ordering and distributing medical supplies to assigned clinical units using ERP inventory applications (PeopleSoft), supply distributor email, and website reporting. This role also involves maintaining and distributing medical equipment and gas according to unit requests and established pars. The technician will ensure assigned unit par location bins are in optimal condition with ongoing updates and label reprints, and may be assigned to maintain and clean designated hospital equipment, ensuring broken units are referred to BioMed for repair. Additionally, the role includes exchanging O2 tanks per designated unit pars and staging used tanks for replacement. The position requires demonstrating accountability through effective time management to complete all assignments before the end of the shift, avoiding unapproved downtime, and seeking supervisor assistance as needed. Productivity expectations include a positive trend in Kanban Bin fill rates and utilization, matching individual scan transactions to assigned bin pars, and eliminating unnecessary Express Issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of experience in Materials Management supply distribution, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Ability to focus on assignments and seek assistance as required to meet all defined productivity and quality expectations.
  • Ability to utilize ERP inventory applications, basic Excel spreadsheets, and email notification reviews to accurately process and receive orders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow Supply Chain colleagues and clinical contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Orders and distributes medical supplies to assigned clinical units utilizing ERP inventory applications (PeopleSoft), supply distributor email and website reporting.
  • Maintains and distributes medical equipment and gas per unit request and established pars.
  • Maintains all assigned unit par location bins in optimal condition with ongoing par updates and label reprints as assigned or recommended by Kanban Dashboard metric review.
  • As assigned, maintain and clean designated hospital equipment (e.g. IV pumps/channels/SCD & breast pumps, cooling/warmers) in good working order; assuring broken units are referred to BioMed for repair.
  • As assigned, exchange O2 tanks per designated unit pars; staged used tanks for replacement.
  • Demonstrates accountability through utilization of good time management ensuring completion of all assignments prior to the end of shift.
  • Unapproved downtime must be avoided.
  • Seek supervisor assistance as required.
  • Productivity expectation includes positive trend on Kanban Bin fill rates and utilization, individual scan transactions matching assigned bin Pars and elimination of unnecessary Express Issues.
