About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining overall inventory, picking up and replenishing supplies at assigned hospital work areas, and tracking all related information using handheld computers. The position requires keeping supply areas neat and orderly to ensure accurate counting and identification/removal of outdated supplies. It also serves as a primary customer service liaison between Material Distribution and nursing divisions/units regarding Periodic Area Replenishment (PAR) items, maintaining communication with nursing representatives to ensure timely and accurate information flow about shortages, outages, overstock, and other inventory concerns. Accurate maintenance of shelf tag labels with pertinent item information is also a key responsibility. Additional duties include performing other assigned tasks, complying with all policies and standards, and adhering to all requirements for safely and securely maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients, including annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated ability to use PCs and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). (Required proficiency)

Nice To Haves

  • Stock room, inventory, hospital, and/or customer service experience. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Experience with hand held computers. (Preferred proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Accurate maintenance of shelf tag labels noting pertinent item information.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Complying with all policies and standards.
  • Abiding by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients.
