About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining overall inventory, picking up and replenishing supplies at assigned hospital work areas, and tracking all related information using handheld computers. The position requires keeping supply areas neat and orderly for accurate inventory counts and identification/removal of outdated supplies. The Supply Chain Tech I serves as the primary customer service liaison between Material Distribution and nursing divisions/units for Periodic Area Replenishment (PAR) items, maintaining communication with nursing representatives to ensure timely and accurate information flow regarding shortages, outages, overstock, and other inventory concerns. Accurate maintenance of shelf tag labels with pertinent item information is also a key responsibility. Additional duties include performing other assigned tasks, complying with all policies and standards, and abiding by requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients.

Requirements

  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated ability to use PCs and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). (Required proficiency)
  • On the job hand and power jack certification (Required within 90 Days)

Nice To Haves

  • Stock room, inventory, hospital, and/or customer service experience. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Experience with hand held computers. (Preferred proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining overall inventory, and picking up and replenishing supplies, at assigned hospital work areas.
  • Tracking all related information using handheld computers.
  • Keeping supply areas neat and orderly in order to permit the accurate counting of supplies and the identification and removal of outdated supplies.
  • Serving as primary customer service liaison between Material Distribution and the nursing divisions/units relative to Periodic Area Replenishment (PAR) items.
  • Maintaining communications with designated nursing representatives in order to ensure timely and accurate information flow regarding shortages, outages, overstock, and other inventory problems and concerns.
  • Accurate maintenance of shelf tag labels noting pertinent item information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Abides by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
