About The Position

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining medical supplies and equipment within the receiving dock and clinical supply chain par locations at Eskenazi Health. This role ensures inventory levels are accurate, supplies are readily available, and costs are controlled. The specialist works closely with various departments to forecast clinical needs, place orders, replenish products and manage stock levels to support patient care and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in inventory management or logistics is a plus.
  • 1-2 years inventory management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and receiving procedures.
  • Proficiency using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Capable of utilizing standard supply chain equipment or resources specific to box cutter, wireless handheld devices, computer, electronic power jacks, code carts, case carts, rolling racks, recycle & trash compactors.
  • Preferred knowledge of healthcare supply chain terminology, receiving, restocking, ordering of product, courier services, SAP MRP, SAP Fiori, Global Health Exchange and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health Mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County.
  • Manage the clinical par locations, just in time tote deliveries and breakdown room operational procedures.
  • Proper use of enterprise resource planning and point of use solutions.
  • Create requisitions for stock, non-stock and special request.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management controls and processes.
  • Make sure end of shift duties are complete and meet operational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, FDA standards and product recall management notifications.
  • Develop and maintain inventory reports and records for the accuracy of the enterprise resource planning solution managing item numbers, item descriptions, unit of measure and bin locations.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects related to inventory management
