About The Position

The Supply Chain Clerk supports API Heat Transfer’s Lean cultural transformation by assisting with purchasing, inventory control, and supply chain processes within the Buffalo facility. This role works closely with Purchasing, Operations, and the Corporate Supply Chain function to ensure accurate inventory management, efficient material flow, and reliable support of manufacturing and maintenance operations. At API Heat Transfer, we take our culture transformation seriously. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
  • Proven supply chain experience with inventory control, reconciliation, and cycle counting
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems; PLEX experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • General understanding of manufacturing environments and order flow

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO)
  • Research potential suppliers and support price and contract negotiations
  • Maintain supplier relationships and identify cost‑saving opportunities
  • Utilize software tools to streamline purchasing processes and improve efficiency
  • Inventory, store, and distribute tools and equipment to personnel
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining a scanner‑based inventory system to enhance accuracy
  • Support inventory management through labeling, tracking, and coordinating material movement
  • Manage cycle counts against stock lists and monitor VMI inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Update ERP systems with regular transactions, adjustments, and scrap activity
  • Research significant inventory variances and make necessary corrections
  • Analyze consumption reports to determine whether materials are restocked, returned, written off, or scrapped
  • Implement corrective actions to resolve discrepancies and reduce redundancies
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives related to supply chain and inventory processes
  • Assist with process documentation and reporting as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
