About The Position

Vishay Specialty Thin Film is seeking an energetic Supply Chain Specialist (Buyer/Planner) for their Hudson, MA facility. This role is crucial for planning production schedules, managing supplier relationships, balancing inventory, and ensuring the timely availability of materials to meet customer demands. The position offers a high level of ownership and direct interaction with leadership in a collaborative, small-team environment where employees make a visible impact. The company manufactures highly engineered electronic components for demanding applications in aerospace, defense, medical, telecommunications, and industrial technologies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, production planning, supply chain, inventory management, scheduling, manufacturing operations, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive mindset and a desire to improve processes.
  • Must qualify as a “U.S. Person” according to U.S. federal law due to access to ITAR/EAR information.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in electronics, semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, or other high-technology manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase raw materials, components, and outside services to support production requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers while monitoring quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
  • Identify alternate suppliers and recommend sourcing improvements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively resolve supply issues.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules using the MRP system.
  • Balance customer demand with manufacturing capacity.
  • Coordinate priorities with Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, and Sales.
  • Monitor inventory levels to support customer delivery while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Identify material shortages and develop recovery plans.
  • Analyze inventory, planning, and purchasing data to improve operational performance.
  • Recommend process improvements that improve delivery, reduce inventory, and lower costs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Help build a resilient, responsive supply chain capable of supporting future business growth.
