About The Position

Airbus Commercial is looking for a Supply Chain and Quality Manager to join our Procurement department. This position supports the on-time delivery and quality of standard parts from suppliers and their sub-tiers. The role involves assessing supplier readiness, securing industrial quality performance for future rates, and consolidating industrial risk outlook and mitigation actions. The Airbus Procurement Operations team is composed of cross-national teams of Supply Chain Quality Managers, Specialists, and Leads across the EU, North America, and Asia. Their mission is to acquire indirect goods and services for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters, contributing to the company's value generation and competitiveness. Team members ensure on-time and on-quality delivery of equipment and systems by leveraging expertise in Industrial, Operations & Quality Management, and strong relationship-building skills to resolve issues and proactively mitigate supply chain challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Industrial Engineering or a similar field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in a procurement operations and supply chain environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and expertise of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Practical Problem Solving, International Management System standards, Authorities/Regulations/Standards, Knowledge of QMS, Auditing/Assessing.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

  • Work onsite at allocated supplier sites a minimum of 3 days a week.
  • Ensure the maturity and robustness of suppliers' manufacturing and supply chain processes to prevent supply failures.
  • Drive continuous improvement of supply chain-related performance for supplied products.
  • Review supplier capacity and capability to secure ramp-up periods and meet Airbus industrial objectives (e.g., major planning changes, ramp downs).
  • Monitor and analyze performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and oversee supplier surveillance via audits, assessments, recovery plans, missions, CID (Corrective, Improvement, Development), and industrial risk management with internal and external parties.
  • Initiate and organize supplier ramp-up capacity and capability assessments to secure ramp-up or major planning changes.
  • Monitor major industrial risks, significant changes (industrial transfers, major planning changes), and support design changes from an industrial perspective to protect Airbus operations.
  • Initiate and follow recovery plans with suppliers in case of delivery performance degradation to ensure deliveries meet Airbus requirements.
  • Manage suppliers' preventive/corrective action plans to ensure achievements meet expected end results.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, including Manufacturing Flow Team (MFT) leaders, Programs, and Final Assembly Lines (FALs), encompassing communication, customer/supplier relations, meetings, and improvement actions.
