Supply Chain Purchasing Specialist III - Comms
About The Position
The Purchasing Specialist III is responsible for maintaining inventory levels for assigned supplier line(s) consistent with the business plan that maximizes sales, inventory turns, and return on inventory. This role involves managing inventory mix and levels to support the sales pipeline, processing purchase orders for hardware, software, and licensing, updating ETAs in SAP, resolving supplier receipt discrepancies, managing stock rotations, and handling slow-moving, obsolete, and end-of-life inventory. The specialist will also monitor the sales pipeline, work with the Supplier Business Manager, and track sales, gross profit, and return on inventory performance. Maintaining strong relationships with supplier partners and ScanSource sales teams is crucial. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Requirements
- High School/GED
- Organizational Skills
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification
- 5+ years Industry Experience
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience (technology or distribution)
- Negotiation Skills
- SAP Experience
- Proficiency in foreign language (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German)
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory mix and levels to support sales pipeline, maximizing inventory investments
- Process all supplier hardware, software and licensing purchases orders
- Update Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA’s) in SAP on all outstanding purchase orders
- Resolve all Supplier Receipt Discrepancies (SRD’s) in a timely manner
- Manage and execute stock rotations
- Manage slow moving, obsolete, end of life, and alternative inventory
- Monitor sales pipeline, working directly with the Supplier Business Manager
- Monitor sales, gross profit and return on inventory performance to goal
- Maintain relationship with supplier partner(s)
- Maintain an accessible and responsive relationship with ScanSource sales teams
- Other duties as assigned
