The Supply Chain Planner role is responsible for anticipating and forecasting operational, maintenance, and manufacturing rhythms. This position reviews and communicates customer demand, helps to prioritize and schedule work, and ensures schedule attainment, throughput, and on-time delivery. The planner acts as a liaison between the customer and the plant, facilitating understanding of customer priorities and galvanizing efforts to achieve goals. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and monitor inventory and information accurately. The planner must be able to adjust plans without causing disruption and create replicable processes. Ownership of tasks, including tracking down necessary information and enabling the success of others, is crucial. The role demands balanced attention, focusing on areas of greatest impact, asking critical questions, and adjusting to customer demands, often on short notice. The ability to influence without direct reporting authority, represent plant interests, and deliver difficult news is also important. The outcome interpreter must have strong intuition, understand complexity and priority, be business-minded towards plant outcomes, and create new levels of performance by combining internal and external factors.
