What Supply Chain Planning contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Job Summary The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for ensuring the correct Net Requirements are flowing to the manufacturing sites and external manufacturers, so they are scheduling production to the correct mix and quantities driven by the system requirements and enabling procurement of the correct materials to support Service & Repair activities. This role works closely with other functional teams to ensure customer metrics are achieved or exceeded (Service Level, Backorders). Primary responsibility is to ensure the finished goods and spare parts supply is sufficient in the network to avoid supply gaps both near term Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) and long-term Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) by reviewing plant capacity, working with deployment, reviewing and confirming proper safety stock levels and opportunities for reducing inventory costs. Roles primarily uses the planning and deployment systems of Kinaxis and SAP.
