About The Position

The Supply Chain Planner/Buyer is responsible for the strategic sourcing, purchasing, and supply management of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods. This role ensures material availability to support production and customer demand while maintaining cost competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and supplier performance standards. The ideal candidate has experience in nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, or food manufacturing, and is familiar with contract manufacturing environments, and supply risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 3–7+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in Nutraceuticals, Dietary supplements, Pharmaceuticals, or Food manufacturing
  • ERP/MRP systems experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Strong Excel / data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting concepts, and supplier performance metrics
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers and priorities
  • Excellent cross-functional communication
  • Attention to detail and compliance awareness

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers (CMOs) and ingredient suppliers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement of raw materials, bulk materials, and packaging components used in health supplement finished good production.
  • Issue purchase orders and manage order confirmations, delivery schedules, and order tracking.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and safety stock in coordination with demand planning, production, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor supplier lead times and ensure material availability to support production and customer fulfillment requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with raw material suppliers, packaging vendors, and contract manufacturers (CMOs).
  • Lead weekly calls with key CMOs.
  • Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key Partners.
  • Support supplier qualification and onboarding processes, including documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supply consolidation, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning, Commercial, and Quality teams to maintain supply continuity.
  • Analyze inventory levels, forecast consumption, and adjust purchase plans accordingly.
  • Support capacity planning with contract manufacturers to ensure supply alignment with forecasted demand.
  • Work closely with Innovation and Marketing teams on new product launches.
  • Partner with QA/QC and operations team on product clearance and release.
  • Resolve any financial related issues with the Finance Team.
