About The Position

This role provides direct leadership and functional oversight for local purchasing resources, ensuring procurement activities align with company standards, project schedules, and operational priorities. This role oversees local warehouse, logistics, and purchasing personnel and this role is responsible for leading and coordinating warehouse, logistics, purchasing, fleet, and operational systems in support of field and project operations. The position combines people leadership with hands-on operational execution, ensuring materials, tools, vehicles, and systems are available, accurate, and aligned with project needs. Working closely with divisional leadership, field teams, vendors, and support departments, this role drives consistency, efficiency, and accountability across logistics and procurement processes while supporting continuous improvement, cost control, and workforce development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics, supply chain, or business preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, construction operations, or supply chain management required.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Vendor and subcontractor coordination experience.
  • Experience with inventory management systems required (Kojo, One-Key preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or other related software.
  • Proficient with inventory management, fleet, GPS, and logistics technology platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse and logistics operations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong process improvement and analytical skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities across field and office environments.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, stages, and accurately tracks materials, tools, and equipment using Kojo and One-Key to ensure real-time visibility and accountability across warehouse, will-call, and field operations.
  • Oversees tool lifecycle management, including assignments, QA/QC inspections, repairs, calibration, scrap wire processing, and disposition of obsolete assets to maximize operational value.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment while supporting inventory verification, cycle counts, and material readiness prior to issuing purchase orders.
  • Plans, schedules, and routes routine and non-routine deliveries of materials and tools, coordinating with internal drivers and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely, cost-effective service.
  • Supports jobsite demobilization efforts, including the return, redistribution, and reallocation of excess materials and tools between projects to minimize waste and avoid unnecessary purchases.
  • Drives operational value from Samsara by implementing and managing features such as internal manifests, DVIRs, proof of delivery (PODs), route stop notifications, and vehicle tracking.
  • Provides logistics support for special projects by participating in planning meetings and coordinating non-standard delivery, transportation, and material handling needs.
  • Conducts onsite audits of tools and materials, processes jobsite returns, and ensures inventory records, systems, and documentation are accurately reconciled and closed out.
  • Performs field and warehouse site visits to deliver hands-on training, conducts process improvement time studies, and resolves issues that cannot be addressed remotely.
  • Provides direct supervision and day-to-day direction to the local buyer, including workload prioritization, performance expectations, coaching, and development. Ensures purchasing activities comply with established SOPs and documentation requirements.
  • Trains and supports field personnel on placing requisitions and receiving materials through Kojo, while providing oversight and guidance to divisional buyers to ensure compliance with purchasing SOPs, approval workflows, and documentation standards.
  • Participates in job startup and preconstruction meetings to support commodity buyouts, aligns purchasing strategies with project schedules, and identifies cost-saving, standardization, and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Coordinates with vendors to resolve purchasing, delivery, and billing issues; drives value-added services; manages credits; and processes jobsite returns.
  • Supports fleet operations by responding to vehicle and equipment requests, coordinating vehicle upfitting and modifications with vendors, and scheduling preventive maintenance and repair services.
  • Manages fleet assets, including GPS and dash camera installation and removal, vehicle registrations and license plates, and issuance and tracking of fuel cards and toll tags.
  • Provides coaching, oversight, and performance expectations for delivery drivers to promote safe driving practices, route efficiency, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company policies.
  • Drives adoption and effective use of operational systems, including Kojo, One-Key, and Samsara, ensuring systems are configured, used consistently, and delivering measurable operational value.
  • Leads, develops, and manages direct reports and indirect contributors by assigning work, setting expectations, providing coaching and feedback, and addressing performance issues. Responsibilities include hiring, terminations, intern mentorship, one-on-one meetings, and approval of timecards and time off.
  • Fosters a culture of engagement, accountability, and trust across warehouse, logistics, purchasing, fleet, and field operations through open communication, consistent leadership presence, and strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Establishes and maintains recurring meetings with team members and divisional leadership to align priorities, surface risks, and ensure operational initiatives support project and business needs.
  • Forecasts labor, workload, and resource requirements and proactively plan staffing levels and skill coverage to support current and future operational demands.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and executes cross-functional initiatives such as One-Key audits, Kojo re-rollouts, request and workflow automation tools, and Jobsite Logistics Coordinator (JLC) engagement efforts, tracking progress and driving adoption.
  • Exercises decision-making authority over day-to-day operations, resource allocation, and process execution within assigned areas, escalating strategic or high-risk decisions as appropriate.
  • Supports budget discipline by managing labor efficiency, identifying cost-reduction and waste-elimination opportunities, and contributing operational input to financial planning and purchasing decisions.
  • Communicates operational performance, risks, and resource needs to leadership using clear, data-driven updates and actionable recommendations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
