About The Position

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co. a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00] Work locations include - Cleveland, OH Connellsville, PA or Bethel, PA with the opportunity to work remote on either Monday or Friday each week per company policy. The Summer 2026 session will take place from May 18th, 2026-August 21st, 2026. As a participant in the Co-op/Intern Professional Development Program, you will be cultivating professional skills and perform professional level work at FirstEnergy. Each participant will receive on-the-job training, mentoring, experiential learning and challenging assignments to refine skills and round out competencies. As a Materials Management Intern at FirstEnergy, you will gain hands-on experience supporting inventory control, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes that directly support field and operational needs. You will work with real-world materials data to help improve material availability, accuracy, and efficiency across the organization. Additionally, you will be empowered to develop on-the-job skills and practical knowledge in materials planning, inventory analysis, and process improvement. Interns will gain exposure to enterprise systems, reporting tools, and materials management technologies used in a utility environment. As a Materials Management Intern you may participate in the following functions: Demonstrating and directing a solid commitment to all aspects of safety. Replenishing materials using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications such as SAP to establish appropriate stock levels of inventory. Providing support for other Supply Chain Analysts. Evaluating inventory and excess inventory. Producing reports and summaries regarding inventory/stock levels. Interacting with all levels of Management (internal/external). Applied experience to generalize conceptual knowledge to solve routine problems.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university/college with a major in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Business Management or related field
  • Must have a graduation date not earlier than May 2028
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must have the ability to work without sponsorship (now or in the future)

  • Communicates effectively across functional and operational boundaries.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments.
  • Ability to make timely decisions that use available material and resources in a cost-effective manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Power BI report generation preferred
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems
  • Experience using Microsoft products.
