About The Position

This position is accountable for managing the NA Oils refined, crude and by-product fleets pertaining to our processing facilities as well as being the key link between TSC, Crude oils department, and Refined oils sales group as it pertains to fleet utilization, inventory monitoring and maximizing refining and crush rates at these facilities. The role requires developing a working knowledge of the softseed & soy processing industry, understanding the flows from crush plants through refineries, including crush rates, yields, refining capacities, inbound crude requirements, outbound refined requirements, and storage capacities. It involves daily monitoring of sales positions, customer requirements, and managing fleets for refined, crude, and by-products. The position also entails developing communication with crude oils, by-products, and refined oils sales teams regarding equipment needs, analyzing oil freight spreads to identify shipping opportunities, and determining fleet requirements based on production estimates and turn times. Staying informed about global and U.S. supply and demand, price trends, and relationships on all oils is crucial to assist the sales group. Periodic visits to processing locations for team building and logistical analysis, monitoring shipments for timely delivery and fleet efficiency, and monitoring daily inventories and production to anticipate storage issues and maintain crude oil supplies are key responsibilities. Collaboration with other Oils NA supply chain analysts to maintain and monitor the crude oil supply planner is also required, as is monitoring crude and refined oil flows to meet vessel requirements and minimize demurrage.

Requirements

  • University degree in Agriculture, Business Administration or Commerce.
  • Minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible experience in the merchandising of commodities and logistics.
  • Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast paced work environment.
  • Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgement in making decisions.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to contribute within a team based work environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users and internal customers.
  • Working knowledge and use of our railcar management system (RMS).
  • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software applications within a windows based operating environment.
  • If in current position for less than 18 months, verbal supervisor approval is required before applying.

Responsibilities

  • Identify fleet requirements through analysis of production estimates, average turn times, and truck/rail percentages.
  • Stay informed about world and U.S. supply and demand, price trends, and price relationships on all oils.
  • Conduct periodic visits to processing locations to team build and analyze logistical opportunities.
  • Monitor shipments to and from plants to ensure timely delivery and maximize car fleet efficiencies.
  • Monitor daily inventories and production to anticipate storage problems and maintain crude oil supplies.
  • Work with other Oils NA supply chain analysts to maintain and monitor the crude oil supply planner.
  • Monitor crude and refined oil flows to transfer facilities and export terminals to meet vessel requirements and minimize demurrage.
