About The Position

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, supplier management, inventory control, and logistics. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services to support production and program execution. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in purchasing and supplier negotiations, along with a solid understanding of aerospace and defense environments, including compliance with FAR/DFARS and government contracting requirements. This position partners closely with Engineering, Operations, and Program Management to drive performance, mitigate risk, and support organizational growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of supply chain, procurement, or purchasing experience
  • Prior experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government contracting requirements
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Must be a U.S citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with DCAA compliance and audit requirements
  • Experience supporting DoD programs or government contracts
  • CPSM, CPIM, or related supply chain certification
  • Experience with supplier development and strategic sourcing initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met
  • Evaluate supplier performance using key metrics (OTD, quality, cost) and drive continuous improvement
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers to support program requirements and risk mitigation strategies
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms in alignment with company policies
  • Oversee material planning, inventory management, and demand forecasting to support production schedules
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to meet program milestones and customer requirements
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, excess/obsolete materials, and cost optimization initiatives
  • Coordinate with Operations and Production teams to align supply chain activities with manufacturing needs
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable government contracting regulations
  • Maintain procurement documentation and support audits (internal, customer, and regulatory such as DCAA)
  • Identify supply chain risks (supplier, geopolitical, material shortages) and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and ethical sourcing practices
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to support new product development and production readiness
  • Support proposal efforts by providing cost estimates, supplier inputs, and lead time analysis
  • Participate in make vs. buy decisions and strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Drive process improvements across procurement and supply chain functions
  • Develop and implement best practices, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and visibility
  • Mentor and support buyers or junior supply chain staff (if applicable)
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership
