About The Position

Dover Precision Components is hiring a Supply Chain Manager for our Advanced Compression and Sealing segment, located at our Houston/ Pearland, TX facility. The Supply Chain Manager provides results-driven leadership with a focus on best practices, quality, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will manage all aspects of material flow, including maintaining inventory control and accuracy, and developing and managing supplier relationships. You will provide coaching and manage a team of planners, buyers, and a logistics supervisor. We offer competitive pay and benefits and the ability to be a key Supply Chain leader. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, material management, engineering, business or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment with procurement, inventory, planning, supervision, and ERP systems background.
  • Experience in Lean, Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships, positively motivate team, and influence across organizational lines.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS certification.
  • Syteline experience is a plus.
  • Related industry experience (precision components supporting oil and gas).
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge/ experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and motivate people to create a result oriented and collaborative working environment.

  • Actively engage in lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Ensure the team is fully trained and follows the safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain, including use of forklifts.
  • Establish and implement methods and best practices that support inventory management, procurement, planning, and logistics.
  • Supervise the Supply Chain Team at manufacturing site: 3 Direct (2 Buyers, Warehouse Supervisor, and Production Planning Supervisor) and 14 indirect.
  • Implement and manage a process to ensure transactional material issuance is being followed correctly to avoid variances that will impact inventory integrity for planning purposes.
  • Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop and execute accurate production plans.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional business teams to develop the best economic strategy for production planning to support customer demand.
  • Address issues with the production plan by removing roadblocks for team members by coordinating with quality, engineering, and production operations to ensure on-time delivery targets.
  • Develop and execute a sourcing strategy to meet the location’s growth and sourcing requirements for direct and indirect spending.
  • Identify, develop, and manage effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers to meet established cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Establish, implement, and manage a system to evaluate, monitor and report supplier scorecard performance.
  • Assess supplier risk to identify single-source dependencies and drive mitigation actions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and qualify new suppliers or materials.
  • Manage overall logistical plan for the site while coordinating with the shipping supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations and shipping requirements (inbound & outbound).
  • Oversee freight provider performance, contracts, and cost control.
  • Lead inventory strategy to optimize levels, accuracy, and working capital.
  • Drive improvements in inventory turns and reduce excess/obsolete stock.
  • Set and govern planning parameters (safety stock, min/max, reorder points).
  • Oversee inventory controls, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
