About The Position

The Supply Chain Manager will manage Supply Chain activities under the direction of the Plant Manager and in accordance with company policy. This role provides leadership to Supply Chain employees through effective communications, coaching, training, and development. The position involves managing procurement and purchasing activities to ensure the availability of raw materials, components, packaging materials, and services to support production requirements while optimizing cost, quality, lead time, inventory levels, and continuity of supply. The role also oversees the West Spokane Warehouse operations, including receipt, storage, shipping, and inventory control, and ensures compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in an FDA regulated manufacturing facility, with a demonstrated ability to implement systems that promote GMP compliance preferred.
• Knowledge of GMP and GDP requirements.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Experience with materials, inventory management, procurement, and logistics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize meeting established timelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage Supply Chain activities under the direction of the Plant Manager and in accordance with company policy.
• Provide leadership to Supply Chain employees through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
• Manage procurement and purchasing activities to ensure raw materials, components, packaging materials, and services are available to support production requirements while optimizing cost, quality, lead time, inventory levels, and continuity of supply.
• Monitor material shelf life, expiration/retest dates, excess and obsolete inventory, and slow-moving materials and coordinate appropriate mitigation actions with applicable stakeholders.
• Direct and lead the day-to-day operations of the West Spokane Warehouse, including the receipt, storage, and shipping of raw materials and finished goods, and inventory control.
• Participate and contribute to achieving the maximum utilization of Sage 100 ERP relative to the scope of materials management.
• Oversee the maintenance of records for all shipping and receiving activities, verifying their accuracy.
• Responsible for the coordination of physical and cycle counts of inventories, ensuring the accuracy of counts including the coordination and execution of the annual physical inventory.
• Maintain inventory within the Warehouse per Silgan Unicep FIFO procedure.
• Partner with Quality and other cross functional stakeholders to support supplier qualification and requalification, supplier audits, and maintenance of the Approved Supplier List.
• Manage Supplier Performance through established metrics and regular performance reviews, addressing gaps in quality, delivery, cost, service, and lead times while driving continuous improvement.
• Support new product introductions, technology transfers, and validation activities by coordinating sourcing, supplier qualification, material availability, and other supply chain requirements necessary for successful execution and commercialization.
• Participate in deviations, investigations, CAPAs, and other quality-system activities when supplier, material, warehouse, inventory, or supply-chain-related issues are identified.
• Develop, implement, train, and hold accountable staff in the transactional discipline of the company’s information systems as well as on inventory flow between inventory locations and the production floor/work orders.
• Develop and report against departmental initiatives and metrics to measure performance in coordination with Plant Manager.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and all other regulatory requirements, in accordance with company policy and supplier management procedures.
• Participate in the development, assessment, training, and accountability of direct reports.
