The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for aligning customer demand, material availability, inventory, supplier performance, and internal production resources to ensure on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and efficient order execution. This role aims to free up Program Managers to focus on program execution and customer coordination by taking over day-to-day ordering, inventory management, customer order management, and production scheduling responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive supply chain, planning, purchasing, inventory, or operations experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in injection molding or tooling.
  • Experience developing production planning and scheduling processes tied to customer demand and internal capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, inventory control methods, and supplier management.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own overall supply chain performance, including purchasing, material availability, inventory control, incoming customer order monitoring, and supplier performance.
  • Develop and maintain a process for monitoring incoming customer orders to assess on-time delivery risk, production impact, and material requirements.
  • Partner with operations to ensure customer demand is translated into executable production plans.
  • Establish and lead SIOP and related planning disciplines to align demand, capacity, inventory targets, and business priorities.
  • Develop and enforce inventory strategies, including safety stock, reorder points, lot size alignment, and replenishment planning to balance service, cash, and risk.
  • Lead supplier performance management/audits, including risk evaluation, delivery, responsiveness, quality, and corrective actions.
  • Implement and manage supplier agreements and NDA’s.
  • Establish and maintain a competitive bidding process for all major purchasing categories.
  • Drive annual cost reductions through supplier negotiations, sourcing improvements, inventory optimization, and process efficiency.
  • Develop a formal production scheduling process based on customer demand, available capacity, labor, machine availability, tooling constraints, and internal resources.
  • Work closely with production and operations leadership to create achievable schedules and proactively manage constraints.
  • Monitor schedule performance and recommend adjustments to improve execution, customer service, and plant efficiency.
  • Develop escalation processes for shortages, late materials, demand changes, and capacity conflicts that could affect customer delivery.
  • Use data, root cause analysis, and cross-functional problem solving to improve on-time delivery, inventory turns, days on hand, supplier performance, and schedule attainment.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and applicable customer requirements within supply chain processes and records.
  • Serve as the primary internal lead for supply chain coordination across customer service, Program Management, production, engineering, tooling, quality, and purchasing.
  • Communicate supply risks, schedule constraints, and recovery plans clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams.
