About The Position

Leads and manages the company’s supply chain and materials management function, including sourcing, procurement, inventory, materials planning, receiving, and stockroom operations, to ensure the timely and cost-effective availability of materials needed to support production, service, and new product introduction (NPI).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, materials management, or a related field, including leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain, procurement, inventory management, materials planning, and supplier management.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, solve problems, make sound decisions, and effectively prioritize competing operational needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and communicate instructions, direction, technical information, and business requirements.
  • Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as business-specific software such as ERP and eQMS systems.

  • Experience in the medical device manufacturing industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the company’s supply chain and materials management function to ensure the timely availability of materials and supplies needed to meet production schedules and customer commitments while balancing cost, inventory, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Manages and develops the supply chain team, establishing priorities and performance expectations, managing personnel matters, and fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develops and executes sourcing and procurement strategies, including supplier selection, negotiations, pricing, terms, lead times, and delivery schedules, while identifying opportunities to reduce costs and strengthen supply continuity.
  • Manages supplier relationships and performance, monitoring quality, delivery, capacity, responsiveness, and cost, and develops new or alternative suppliers as needed to maintain a reliable supply base.
  • Directs materials planning and inventory management, integrating forecasts, sales orders, production requirements, and inventory levels to maintain appropriate inventory and minimize shortages, excess, and obsolete materials.
  • Develops and implements contingency plans for supply chain risks, including supplier disruptions, material shortages, extended lead times, and changes in production or customer demand, to minimize operational and customer impact.
  • Establishes and monitors supply chain performance metrics and objectives, using data and business trends to identify opportunities, measure results, and improve service, cost, inventory, and operational efficiency.
  • Manages receiving, stockroom, and material flow activities and partners with Production, Quality, Engineering, Sales, and other functions to resolve material issues and support overall operational objectives.
