This role provides crucial logistics support across major operations, focusing on Perishables Purchasing. The Supply Chain Manager will contribute to the organization's overall supply and logistics strategy, support various launch activities, and identify opportunities to reduce costs through improved buying patterns and supply channels. The position involves managing email flow, maintaining accurate records, performing data analysis, and communicating findings to the team. This role also assists in developing new reporting tools for buying teams, preparing materials for buyer communication, and monitoring functional activity processes for continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include truck forecasting, managing transportation carriers, and communicating planning issues to team leadership. The role upholds the company's core values and business philosophy with team members and partners, acts as a liaison for the Purchasing team, and monitors trucking and delivery schedules to proactively identify and resolve potential issues. The manager will review periodic reports for trends, recommend improvements, and drive improvements in key performance metrics such as order fill rate, on-time delivery, and inventory levels. Daily tracking of load status, understanding dwell times, and ensuring optimal use of the Transportation Management System (TMS) are also essential. The role requires maintaining accurate records of transactions and projections, and assisting with Transportation Procurement RFPs.
