About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the planning and scheduling function for the plant, ensuring schedules support customer requirements and production capacity. The position involves managing inventory to optimize turns while maximizing customer service, overseeing manufacturing orders in the ERP system, and developing the master production schedule. The Supply Chain Manager will coordinate daily with various departments to ensure production readiness and manage raw material inventory levels. This role also includes leading efforts to resolve production issues, providing performance updates, and supporting sales forecasting. Additionally, the role encompasses warehouse and physical logistics responsibilities, including coordinating outbound freight, aligning production with dock capacity and carrier availability, and ensuring accurate load sequencing. The manager will also support logistics compliance and coordinate with other ProAmpac sites for business continuity. Leadership and development of planning and logistics staff, along with driving continuous improvement initiatives, are key aspects of this position. The role offers exposure to senior leadership and future progression opportunities.

Requirements

  • Typically 5–10 years’ experience in a Supply Chain role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong experience in Supply Chain management accounting, forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis
  • Proven ability to communicate information clearly to leadership, financial, and plant stakeholders
  • Experience working across multiple sites and/or with international stakeholders
  • Confident working in a hands-on role, producing reports and analysis personally
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Commercially minded, pragmatic and solutions-focused
  • Data driven in both day-to-day decision making and strategic thinking.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and changing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and scheduling function for the plant, ensuring schedules support customer requirements and production capacity.
  • Manage inventory/company capital to provide maximum customer service while optimizing inventory turns.
  • Oversee creation, release, and maintenance of manufacturing orders in the ERP system.
  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule, balancing capacity, materials, and labor.
  • Coordinate daily with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to ensure production readiness.
  • Coordinate as needed with Commercial and Leadership teams on customer opportunities, trials escalations.
  • Monitor raw material inventory levels and oversee site-level inventory controls (DRP, kanban, min/max, etc.).
  • Lead efforts to resolve production delays, material shortages, or capacity constraints.
  • Provide schedule performance updates and risk assessments to plant leadership.
  • Support annual Sales Forecasting -Term Production Modeling.
  • Warehouse / Physical Logistics throughout plant.
  • Coordinate outbound freight timing with Shipping/Receiving to ensure loads are ready when carriers arrive.
  • Align production schedules with dock capacity, carrier availability, and shipping windows.
  • Oversight of department responsible for working with carriers and brokers to confirm pickup times and resolve operational issues affecting production flow.
  • Ensure accurate load sequencing and readiness based on production completion.
  • Support compliance for logistics tied directly to production (e.g., packaging requirements, labeling readiness, staging accuracy).
  • Coordinate with other ProAmpac sites as necessary to coordinate and align on business continuity.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput and schedule adherence.
  • Develop planning and logistics support staff.
