About The Position

This co-op position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supply chain management within a dynamic industrial environment. The co-op student will participate in health and safety programs, assist with research and project assignments including negotiations, trends, and economic analysis, and perform database administration and inventory replenishment. Responsibilities also include preparing tender documentation, learning direct charge buying duties, supporting business improvement initiatives, and contributing innovative ideas and technologies to enhance business operations. The role is based in the scenic Elk Valley of British Columbia, offering a chance to experience work-life balance with abundant outdoor recreational activities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Commerce, Business and/or Supply Chain Management.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical and operational personnel
  • Willingness to work outdoors and able to operate vehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Nice To Haves

  • a basic understanding of AutoCAD and Solidworks would be advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Participation in the health and safety programs of EVR to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day
  • Assist on research and project assignments; research negotiations, trends and economic analysis
  • Perform Database Administration and inventory replenishment
  • Preparation of Tender Documentation
  • Learn and perform duties associated with Direct Charge buying
  • Participate as a support to business improvement initiatives
  • Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
