About The Position

The Supply Chain Lead owns the physical and logistical backbone of Teal Health, responsible for manufacturing the Teal Wand, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery to patients, and overseeing the accurate and rapid processing of samples by lab partners. This role is critical for scaling operations from early commercial volumes to nationwide demand. It is a hands-on, builder-style position requiring negotiation of contracts, resolution of BOM discrepancies, comfort with ambiguity, fluency in regulated medical device manufacturing and configuration management, and motivation by the mission of expanding access to cervical cancer screening and healthcare for women.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in operations, supply chain, or manufacturing roles.
  • Direct experience scaling a regulated medical device (FDA Class II or III), or comparable experience in diagnostics, pharma, or another quality-regulated industry.
  • Track record managing CMs (contract manufacturers), 3PLs, and shipping vendors against cost, quality, and timing targets.
  • Proven procurement and vendor negotiation skills; comfort with multi-year supply agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills, including fluency in BOM management, COGS analysis, and inventory math.
  • Excited to create and leverage new AI based tools to solve problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to translate operational reality into clear updates for leadership and the broader team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience standing up or scaling clinical lab operations or partnerships (CLIA labs, sample logistics, lab automation).
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and supplier quality processes.
  • Prior startup or early-stage experience — comfortable being the first or second ops hire and building the function from the ground up.
  • Passion for women’s health.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Supply Chain strategy, accountability systems, and supply chain risk mitigation aligned with company business goals.
  • Ensure the Teal Wand is manufactured to specification, on time, and within budget, partnering with QA and Regulatory on corrective actions and supplier quality.
  • Source raw materials and components at competitive prices, build dual-sourcing strategies for critical inputs, and own cost-of-goods reduction initiatives considering regulatory implications.
  • Select, contract, and manage manufacturing, distribution, and shipping vendors to agreed budget, quality, and timing SLAs, driving QBRs and remediation when partners miss targets.
  • Manage and oversee 3PL services for direct mailing and return of samples to various laboratory destinations.
  • Select clinical lab partners to process Teal patient samples, negotiate pricing and turnaround SLAs, and partner with labs to implement automation for growing sample volumes without sacrificing quality.
  • Maintain accurate bill-of-materials and real-time inventory visibility (units, costs, lead times), set safety stock and reorder policies, and prevent stockouts and overstock.
  • Build the operations dashboard for company-wide use, including inventory status, demand vs. supply, COGS trends, and vendor performance, surfacing and resolving problems before they impact patients.
  • Partner with Commercial/Growth on forecasts and translate them into manufacturing and lab capacity plans.
  • Embrace AI native capabilities to improve productivity, performance, and patient experience.
