About The Position

Stand Out For Good, Inc. is seeking a motivated and curious Supply Chain Intern to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced retail distribution environment. This internship is based on-site at our Distribution Center in Maryville, Tennessee, and is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how products move through our supply chain. The program includes an initial two-week immersion in key Distribution Center processes, followed by rotations through various Supply Chain functions such as Inventory Management, Vendor Compliance, Transportation, and Data Analytics. The intern will develop an end-to-end understanding of retail supply chain and Distribution Center operations, assist with data analysis, identify improvement opportunities, and support special projects. The internship culminates in a presentation of observations, findings, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Willingness to actively participate in physical Distribution Center processes during the first two weeks of the internship.
  • Strong interest in supply chain, retail operations, distribution, logistics, or data analytics.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn new systems and analytical tools.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while balancing multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while participating in Distribution Center operations.
  • Ability to safely bend, reach, and lift merchandise or packages in accordance with established job requirements.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 20-25 hours a week, which may include early morning hours depending on operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an end-to-end understanding of retail supply chain and Distribution Center operations.
  • Work alongside Distribution Center associates and leaders.
  • Participate in cross-functional Supply Chain rotations and team meetings.
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, inventory accuracy, quality, cost, or service.
  • Support special projects and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present observations, findings, and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Follow all Distribution Center safety policies and operating procedures.
  • Actively perform key Distribution Center processes including picking, packing, and order processing.
  • Support store distribution processes.
  • Learn Distribution Center safety, quality, productivity, and inventory-control standards.
  • Gain exposure to Inventory Management, Vendor Compliance, Transportation, and Data Analytics functions.
