Supply Chain Intern (Summer 2027)
About The Position
The Zurn Elkay Supply Chain Internship supporting the Zurn Wilkins Water Control and Safety business unit, offers a great opportunity for exposure in a hands-on learning environment. You will have the opportunity to develop a variety of technical, business, and leadership skills during the assignment. As a part of the intern program, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of the following: Networking Events – Zurn Elkay hosts multiple networking opportunities in the Summer that give you exposure to other interns, the leadership team, and executive leaders. Coaching and Mentoring – You will have a structured on boarding process to introduce you to Zurn Elkay's corporate culture and provide you with regular feedback. Real Work Experience – Our internship process does not include getting coffee for your boss or running copies. We will provide you with a real opportunity to run reports, share your analysis, and improve our processes.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a major in business – Supply Chain preferred
- Must have at least a junior standing, a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or above
- Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer
- Efficient and detail-oriented
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Responsibilities
- Support the operations team in various tasks, including coordinating with different departments, managing schedules, and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Evaluate quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Maintains and analyzes inventory levels and makes recommendations.
- Analyze existing operations and propose innovative ideas to streamline procedures and reduce costs.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to operations.
- Generate reports and presentations summarizing key findings to assist in decision-making processes.
- Assist in project planning and labor cost and resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to operations, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with key leaders and teams to facilitate effective communication, resolve operational issues, and ensure alignment across departments.
