About The Position

Peckham is a nonprofit vocational rehabilitation organization that specializes in providing vocational rehabilitation and training opportunities for people with significant disabilities and/or other barriers to employment. This role is for a 3PL Forklift Operator working the 2nd shift. The position involves working in a large warehouse environment, receiving items, placing them in appropriate areas, picking items for outbound shipments, sorting inbound shipments, or manually loading/unloading trucks. The role requires using a WMS (Warehouse Management System) and a radio frequency unit with an LED readout monitor and a bar code scanner to direct placement of items. Accuracy and speed are important, and the ability to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers is necessary. The position offers a wage of $23.45/hr with a $5.09/hr hazard pay differential and works from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able lift up to 40 pounds on a moderate basis.
  • Must be able lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • No positive drug screen for the past 12 months.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get between job locations.
  • Individual must be able to gain and maintain the necessary security clearances.
  • Basic English reading and writing levels.
  • Basic math, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Must be able to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers.
  • Must be able to be licensed on a forklift and a reach truck.

Responsibilities

  • Receive items from delivery trucks and place them in the appropriate warehouse area.
  • Pick items for outbound shipments.
  • Sort inbound OCIE shipments.
  • Manually load or unload trucks or other transporting devices.
  • Unpack, shelve, or place items in proper storage locations according to the WMS.
  • Use radio-frequency stock locator.
  • Report any discrepancies in orders to the Shipping and Receiving supervisor.
  • Key in 15-digit part numbers into the computer.
  • Meet established deadlines.
  • Maintain warehouse equipment by following manufacturer’s standards of use and cleaning.
  • Work with supervisor towards meeting performance standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Daily use of a fork truck, reach truck, push carts and motorized pallet jacks.
  • Operate with a high level of accuracy.
  • Enter computerized data and print tags.
  • Provide training support for peers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
