About The Position

Meta is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer to join its Infrastructure Supply Chain and Engineering (ISCE) team. The role focuses on operations and planning optimization for Meta’s infrastructure supply chain, including servers, data centers, and network equipment. It optimizes supply chain operations and plans at multiple levels to balance capacity, flexibility, supply capability, and cost, from base components through manufacturing to finished goods. The work takes place amid continual product introductions and involves directly managing billions of dollars in annual investment. The role primarily uses software and mathematical optimization models rather than manual spreadsheets. This cross-functional position works with supply chain partners and engineering and business teams to support the growth of Meta’s products. It helps optimize infrastructure deployment and operations from cost and technology perspectives, spanning millions of servers, data center capacity, and advanced technologies including AI.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of experience designing and implementing models, optimization algorithms, operations research, industrial engineering, or a related field.
4+ years of experience with coding or scripting languages such as Python, R, Java, C, C++, or PHP.
4+ years of experience in supply chain management, including planning, manufacturing, operations, or inventory.
Experience working with distributed systems at scale.
Experience in infrastructure operations and technical infrastructure knowledge.
Experience with planning, optimization, modeling, or performance analysis.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Experience managing ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

Experience using business intelligence or data visualization platforms to build supply chain reporting and capacity coverage dashboards.
Familiarity with statistical forecasting methods or demand planning tools applied to infrastructure or hardware supply chains.
Track record of applying AI or automation tools to improve planning workflows, forecast accuracy, or supply chain visibility.
Experience with data center infrastructure supply chains, including server hardware, networking equipment, or storage systems procurement and deployment planning.

Responsibilities

Own infrastructure supply chain planning and operations for Meta, as part of the overall capacity plan, covering servers, network, and data center equipment from components through manufacturing to finished goods.
Design improvements to software systems that increase supply chain operations efficiency and quality, partner with software engineers to implement them, and contribute code.
Develop and analyze business and technical data and scenarios to solve complex supply chain problems and support decision-making.
Build mathematical models to simulate and optimize supply and demand projections, scenario planning, and gap-closure analysis while balancing constraints, product mixes, and costs.
Contribute to end-to-end supply chain processes, methodologies, and data to deliver an executable and optimized supply plan as part of Meta’s overall capacity plan.
Manage and resolve critical escalations and exceptions across the supply chain.
Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models, and make recommendations that drive change and optimization at strategic levels.
