Responsibilities

  • Work with internal customers to ensure products are at the right location at the right time and support assigned branches through the procure-to-pay process.
  • Develop stocking strategies and replenishment methods to achieve the lowest price paid per unit, adapting when vendor thresholds cannot be met but the product is required.
  • Analyze, monitor, and adjust safety stock, reorder thresholds, and other planning parameters to optimize in-stock rates and service levels.
  • Use reporting to execute inventory optimization plans, achieve KPIs, and report challenges or exceptions; periodically review plans with the Inventory Director and branch personnel in response to demand trends or seasonality.
  • Rationalize and standardize suppliers within assigned locations to increase preferred-supplier synergies, purchasing leverage, and distribution-center utilization.
  • Initiate internal transfers to balance inventory and reduce excess or obsolete inventory across the network; process inventory returns under supplier agreements when applicable.
  • Work with the Sourcing Manager and Category Manager to develop, implement, or change category strategies, and communicate supplier price-file updates.
  • Expedite critical inventory and source material from other approved suppliers to fill gaps, subject to approval.
  • Monitor individual and purchasing email accounts and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Assist Accounts Payable by ensuring purchase-order accuracy and promptly resolving pricing, shipping, or receiving discrepancies.
  • Maintain supplier road maps and critical pricing or quantity-buy information, and use them consistently.
  • Work with suppliers on program modifications, product availability, and on-time delivery concerns; negotiate and source products as needed, though this should be minimal.
