About The Position

The Supply Chain Business Analyst at Stella-Jones is responsible for analyzing, validating, and documenting the business requirements, acting as a bridge between IT and the Business Experts (BE) team, ensuring that the needs from the business are effectively communicated and translated into comprehensive requirements. This Supply Chain Business Analyst role is essential to our ongoing roll-out and evolution of SAP across the company as well as the transition to our own newly created SAP Centers of Excellence. This position offers the unique opportunity to own and manage the production planning and materials management (PP/MM) solutions, with a strong focus on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) practices and process evolution within the organisation. Our SAP portfolio runs on the latest technology, SAP S4/HANA on RISE, providing an exciting and innovative work environment. This role reports to our Director of Business Applications and will be hybrid (in-office with some remote work).

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience, including significant SAP PP/MM experience required.
  • Strong grasp of S&OP concepts with proven experience guiding an organization through adoption.
  • Proficient speaking and writing English.
  • Deep understanding of SAP S4/HANA modules, business analysis techniques, and system configuration.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements, system functionalities, and propose effective solutions.
  • Clear and concise communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and document processes.
  • Experience in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address complex issues and optimize system performance.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams, AMS partners, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in system configurations and documentation.
  • Willingness to stay updated with SAP advancements and industry best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • French is an asset.
  • Experience with SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) is a major asset.
  • Supply chain background/experience considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct business analysis activities with a focus on the SAP Production Planning (PP) and Material Management (MM) modules.
  • Support the design, facilitation, and continuous improvement of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, aligning them with SAP PP/MM configuration and underlying data.
  • Participate in defining and documenting business requirements and processes aligned with SAP best practices.
  • Translate business requirements into accurate system specifications.
  • Analyze new projects and internal client requests, providing recommendations for effective solutions.
  • Design procedures and processes based on SAP best practices to streamline operations.
  • Provide expertise in SAP PP/MM solutions to guide implementation and optimization.
  • Ensure optimization and seamless integration of solutions with other streams and functions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define appropriate security profiles required for task performance.
  • Adapt to shifting responsibilities from business analysis to system configuration depending on the nature of each project.
  • Analyze system user requirements and perform configuration as needed.
  • Document system configuration, enhancements, and modifications.
  • Support the ongoing rollout of SAP S4/HANA within the organization.
  • Partner with stakeholders to mature Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) practices, shifting from siloed demand‑supply balancing to integrated, cross‑functional planning.
  • Provide ongoing application support, including participation in the escalation of incidents analyzed by Level 1 and Level 2 support.
  • Collaborate with Application Management Services (AMS) teams and partners to support maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide support and maintenance for non-SAP applications/systems as needed.
  • Participate in creating and enforcing IT software standards, operating procedures, and policies.
