About The Position

The Supply Chain Associate manages branch inventory and supports business-to-business operations by administering procurement, sourcing, and quoting functions to meet customer needs. The role is based at Fastenal’s branch at 1309 Industrial Blvd, Marshalltown, Iowa. The associate may also make deliveries using a company vehicle as needed and perform other duties that support branch success. Fastenal provides on-the-job, online, instructor-led classroom, and virtual training to build the knowledge and skills needed for the role and future growth within the company.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have a current, full, valid driver’s license issued in the country where the job is located, including completion of any applicable graduated license program, and meet driving-record requirements for use of a company vehicle as needed.
Possess or be working toward a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or have customer service or industry-related work experience.
Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Have proficient computer skills.
Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service-oriented.
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive-reasoning, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Be able to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and potentially up to 75 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only).
Pass a sex offender registry check required by a customer or contract serviced by this location.

Responsibilities

Manage branch inventory levels.
Administer procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management.
Estimate and quote prices and source products.
Coordinate resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
Support accounts receivable activities.
Make deliveries using a company vehicle as needed.
Perform other duties as needed to ensure branch success.
