About The Position

The Supply Chain Assistant is responsible for planning and executing tactical supply chain activities required to secure and manage packaging materials in support of production requirements across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role manages inventory levels, material planning, procurement support, delivery scheduling, storage, and material movement while ensuring the accuracy of supply chain data within SAP. The Supply Chain Assistant partners closely with operations, warehouse, engineering, sourcing, and suppliers to ensure uninterrupted production and drive continuous improvement in material planning processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, materials planning, purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience working within SAP or a comparable ERP system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver License

Responsibilities

  • Determines packaging supplies for Kuraray production at multiple production facilities.
  • Maintains inventory at acceptable levels and audits to ensure SAP and physical inventories match.
  • Creates and maintains valid plans for the acquisition of packaging materials and parts.
  • Ensures quality specifications are met for incoming material and follows up with suppliers when material is not within specifications.
  • Participates in supplier service performance evaluations and works with sourcing and suppliers to improve performance.
  • Serves as Manufacturing SAP Super Key User and is responsible for the accuracy of the SAP system.
  • Enters data from sources such as purchase orders, invoices, and requisitions into various computer systems to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, and other records.
  • Schedules and manages the delivery, storage, staging, and movement of packaging materials.
  • Proactively resolves packaging inventory, production, and accounting issues by working with supply chain, operations, supervision, engineering, and warehouse personnel.
  • Supports day-to-day manufacturing operations by ensuring packaging materials are available to meet production requirements.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts related to material planning processes.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, material availability, and overall supply chain efficiency.
