About The Position

Flexible Metal Inc. (FMI), a subsidiary of Hyspan Precision Products, is a local Tier 1 & 2 part and component supplier located near Southeast Michigan. FMI specializes in product design, engineering, development and manufacturing of tubular fabrication, welded tubular assemblies and fabricated exhaust manifolds. The Supply Chain Analyst I manages the availability of indirect materials needed to produce finished goods and supports all Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO). Responsible for overseeing the supply chain information and records, prepares purchase orders for procurement of indirect material to support the organization. Responsible for managing the indirect material cycle counting program and other clerical responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Appropriate associate’s degree; with a minimum of five years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing and automotive field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for purchasing indirect supplies used in production and MRO operations.
  • Maintain and update company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to oversee indirect materials ordered in addition to defined MRO ordering programs not in ERP.
  • Negotiates pricing and terms of purchase for all indirect materials and supports negotiations and terms of purchase for all direct materials.
  • Prepare change notices and requisitions for supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare, update and review Indirect Material purchase orders.
  • Enters daily MRO P.O.s and verifies P. O. Receipts.
  • Responsible for performing Indirect Material cycle counts to ensure accuracy
  • Generate needed P.O.s and track merchandise that requires outside process.
  • Prepare, update and review MRO purchase orders.
  • Verify receipt of MRO items.
  • Act as purchase liaison with corporate for accounts receivable. Review invoices received from suppliers for accuracy.
  • Assign appropriate general ledger entries with purchases.
  • Consults phone interviews or catalogs to obtain pricing and specifications.
  • Follows up, tracks and investigates current status of open orders.
  • Logistic tracking of the transportation of orders.
  • Maintains office supplies.
  • Performs clerical support assignments for Materials Management Department.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Miscellaneous projects as needed and assigned.
