About The Position

The Boeing Company's Defense, Space & Security (BDS) division is seeking an Experienced or Senior Supply Base Management Specialist to join their P-8 Supply Chain Team in Tukwila or Seattle, Washington. This role requires a candidate with strong ownership, sound judgment, and a commitment to team and program success. The manager will be responsible for managing supplier performance, assessing and mitigating risk, and supporting supply chain commitments in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter, capable of managing multiple priorities, organized, and comfortable communicating with senior leadership and cross-functional partners. A solid understanding of supply chain fundamentals and the ability to navigate challenges with persistence and professionalism are essential. The role values teamwork, excellent work, and a positive, supportive culture. The ideal candidate is tenacious, accountable, and skilled at building trusted relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Manufacturing experience is a plus. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Requirements

  • More than 3 years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance
  • More than 3 years of experience managing suppliers/vendors to deliver products and services
  • Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
  • A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree, (A Bachelor's degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a Supply Chain Industry field of study)
  • More than 3 years of experience in program management within supplier management
  • More than 3 years of experience in root cause analysis and corrective action
  • More than 3 years of experience working with Supplier Management, Supply Chain, and/or Procurement practices and processes
  • More than 3 years of working with U.S. Department of Defense contracts
  • Experience in manufacturing is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates supplier/subcontractor business relationships, in-service requirements and performance to contractual obligations and expectations.
  • Develops and participates in the implementation of supply base plans to support customer, program and commodity strategies.
  • Analyzes and monitors supplier quality, delivery and financial performance data to identify risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Develops mitigation plans.
  • Identifies and participates in supplier and business improvement activities.
  • Provides outcomes for potential integration into contracting strategies.
  • Leads supplier/subcontractor business relationships, in-service requirements and performance to contractual obligations and expectations.
  • Manages and monitors supplier quality, delivery and financial performance.
  • Leads the development of mitigations plans to avoid risk and resolve issues impacting customers and programs.
  • Develops and implements supplier base plans to support customer, program and commodity strategies.
  • Analyzes supplier and business processes and procedures to identify improvement opportunities and incorporate into contracting strategies.
  • Acts as primary point of contact for suppliers, customers and programs.
