Aerospace and Defense Supplier Specialist
About The Position
OEM Logistics, LLC, founded in January 2023 by industry veterans, specializes in providing proactive supplier management solutions for the aerospace, defense, and shipbuilding sectors. We integrate supplier specialists directly into supply chain networks to offer enhanced oversight and engagement. As we experience rapid growth, we are seeking passionate Supplier Specialists with a background in manufacturing and aerospace to join our Arizona-based team. This is a full-time position requiring frequent local travel, with potential for regional travel. Pre-employment background and drug screening are mandatory. The role specifically requires daily travel to Kingston, NY.
Requirements
- US citizenship required.
- Minimum of five to ten years of manufacturing experience required (Aerospace, Defense, Ship Building, or Submarine Industry experience preferred).
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license and successfully complete a pre-employment motor vehicle history check.
- Expertise in Supply Chain Management, Production Control, and Shop Floor Management.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs required.
- Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong independent decision-making skills, excellent analytical skills and professional judgment.
Nice To Haves
- College degree preferred. May substitute additional experience in lieu of education.
- Experience with continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing principles, Risk Management, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, PDCA preferred.
- Strong Project Management experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop a partnership relationship with assigned suppliers to meet customer requirements.
- Manage the supplier's Open Order Report to minimize risk and improve delivery.
- Manage delivery performance trends, initiate root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Facilitate and drive timely and effective closure of corrective actions.
- Work with problematic sub-tiers to improve communication and establish achievable production commitments.
- Facilitate cross-functional department communication to prevent delays.
- Provide frequent written communication on mission-critical parts and overall delivery performance.
- Track delivery performance trends and initiate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Perform periodic local travel.
- Perform other duties as required.
