About The Position

The Supplier QA Sr. Specialist is responsible for supporting the strategies as established by Quality leadership within the established legal guidelines and internal standards to ensure the production of the highest quality products in the safest and most efficient manner. This is accomplished by ensuring that Liquid IV, its suppliers, contract manufacturers, and third-party logistics companies have in place effective quality and food safety systems. This position will support supplier approval and onboarding activities, on-time completion of supplier audits and close-out of audit findings and reporting of supplier quality metrics. The Supplier QA Specialist will also be the primary contact between Liquid I.V. QA team and the suppliers by requesting documentation /information as needed and to lead routine quality touch base meetings with suppliers. The role interacts extensively with Quality, Operations and R&D Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to: Support Implementation, enforcement, and improvement of established policies, strategies, and procedures related to quality and food safety to achieve LIV quality-related goals and objectives. Supports supplier audit program in partnership with Unilever H&W. Conducts audits of co-manufacturers, co-packers, and warehouses, and suppliers to ensure compliance of product safety, food safety standards, good manufacturing practices and specifications. The audits will determine the suitability of various facilities to do business with LIV. Maintain approved supplier list and relevant documents on database. Monitors, and reports on relevant supplier KPIs and scorecards to drive continuous improvements. Supports supplier qualification and monitoring activities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and Liquid I.V. standards. Onboards and shares relevant department documentation with qualified suppliers and co-manufacturers. Conducts routine quality touch base meetings with suppliers and drive completion of action items. Supports supplier audit program and ensure timely completion of audit CAPAs. Supports the investigation, containment, and closure of supplier-related quality complaints, non-conformances, and CAPAs. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a BS Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or related field
  • 6+ years of relevant of relevant Quality Assurance experience in the food/supplement industry.
  • Manufacturing experience is required
  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations for Foods FSMA (21 CFR part 117) and Dietary Supplements (21 CFR part 111)
  • Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, SQF, and FSMA required
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to represent the company needs when dealing with suppliers, contract manufacturers, regulatory agencies, and other departments within the corporation.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with suppliers across different geographical, cultural, and time zones preferred.
  • GFSI trained and PCQI certification is a plus
