About The Position

This position is for a Supplier Quality Engineer at Arjo, a healthcare company focused on empowering movement for people with mobility challenges. The role involves close collaboration with the Product Development & Engineering (PD&E) department, proactive participation in new product development and transfer projects, and supporting design for manufacturing solutions. The engineer will also conduct business reviews with suppliers, perform supplier development to meet Arjo's needs, identify cost optimization initiatives, qualify new suppliers and onboard them according to Arjo standards, and conduct system and production process audits at supplier sites. Additionally, the role includes conducting technical reviews with suppliers for new product launches and production transfers, qualifying production components, monitoring and evaluating supplier performance through quality indicators related to the supply chain, supporting procurement process gap analysis and optimization, and continuously improving the quality of delivered components and processes at suppliers. The engineer will also be responsible for the execution and supervision of corrective and preventive actions and other development activities at suppliers, and building requirements for preferred suppliers to establish assessment criteria, fact-based supplier selection, and risk identification.

Requirements

  • Higher education - technical or quality-oriented preferred
  • Min. three years of professional experience in the same or similar position (e.g. product engineer, quality engineer) in a production company
  • Experience in conducting supplier audits
  • Understand nonconformance management and have practical knowledge of quality management tools, methods and techniques (PPAP, FMEA, CP, 8D, RCA, etc.)
  • Ability to read technical documentation
  • Advanced in French/English language
  • Willingness to make domestic and foreign business trips
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the ISO13485 standard

Nice To Haves

  • experience in Medical Device Industry is a plus
  • Experience in working with electronics or electrical industry is an asset
  • Driving license is a plus
  • experience in the field of process validation is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Close collaboration with PD&E - proactive participating in NPD/transfer projects to support on design for manufacturing solutions in terms of technology, materials, process, etc.
  • Business Review with supplier and perform Supplier Development for meet Arjo needs
  • Identify cost optimization initiatives
  • Qualification of new suppliers and their onboarding in accordance with Arjo standards and requirements
  • Conducting system and production process audits at suppliers' sites
  • Conducting technical reviews with suppliers in cooperation with PD&E as part of the new product launch and production transfers
  • Qualification of production components provided by the suppliers
  • Suppliers performance monitoring and evaluations; being responsible for quality indicators related to the Supply Chain
  • Support procurement process gap analysis and optimization if needed
  • Continuous improvement of the quality of delivered components and processes at suppliers, execution and supervision over corrective and preventive actions, and other development activities/ optimization projects at suppliers
  • Building requirements for preferred suppliers to establish assessment criteria, fact based supplier selection and identification of risks
