About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the supplier corrective action process, issuing cost recovery reports, and maintaining supplier quality KPIs. The engineer will evaluate and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents, coordinate supplier quality engineering and process changes, and manage the disposition of discrepant items. Additionally, the role ensures suppliers meet Customer Specific Requirements, supports new product launches, participates in problem-solving projects, conducts product inspections, and provides training. The position also ensures manufacturing documentation meets customer and internal requirements for first-time quality.

Requirements

3-5 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer with the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities
T1 Automotive Manufacturing experience required
IATF16949 experience required.
ERP Systems experience required; SAP preferred
PPAP, APQP experience required

Nice To Haves

VDA auditor certified preferred
Lean Six Sigma Certification is a plus
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is a plus

Responsibilities

Issues and facilitates supplier corrective action process.
Issues cost recovery reports.
Manage supplier quality KPI
Evaluate and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents for suppliers.
Coordinate supplier quality engineering and/or process changes
Maintains records of and controls disposition of "Hold For Inspection" (discrepant) items.
Assures Customer Specific Requirements are met by suppliers
Interact and support new product launches team for purchase parts related topics
Participate and/or lead Problem Solving projects
Conduct inspections of products and provide training of team members requiring guidance.
Ensure manufacturing documentation includes customer and internal requirements to ensure first time quality product.
