About The Position

RFA Engineering is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer, ranging from entry-level to experienced, to join their engineering team. The role involves working with experienced staff using advanced engineering tools and processes. This position operates onsite at a customer's facility and is a full-time role with a comprehensive benefits package, offering opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by customers, and internal advancement within RFA Engineering. The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in managing and dispositioning Process Change Notifications and Deviations, acting as a catalyst for cross-functional teams to resolve issues and mitigate production downtime risks caused by quality problems. This role aims to reduce the workload on existing team members and improve overall team morale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
  • Applicable quality, industrial, or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude through work experience or hobbies.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiar with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies.
  • Must be a self-starter, possess good communication skills, and be able to thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability and desire to work 3rd shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of quality systems/tools, including APQP process.
  • Strengths in facilitation, documentation, and leadership.
  • Experience with GD&T and modeling software.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to lead without authority.
  • Ability to convey topics at both a technical and high level effectively.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Welding, fabrication, sheetmetal, hydraulic, electrical, and/or paint experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to investigate supplier and operational quality issues, ensuring they are well-defined and communicated to the cross-functional team.
  • Assess the impact of issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine a path forward for disposition, mitigating production line downtime risk.
  • Manage the coordination and disposition of non-conformances through Process Change Notifications or Deviations.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and provide fact-based information to concerned parties for problem-solving.
  • Manage deviation and process change requests.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
